There is a religious heritage that has
dominated our planet for time and eternity .
Whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or any other religion, you have been taught , that
you are separate from God.
With very, very few exceptions this
is the prevailing belief on earth.
Why is this so important to understand ?
Because if God is separate from me , and all powerful, and we don’t really
know who he or she or it is, then he is unpredictable.
The old Testament speaks of an angry, jealous God, who demands blood
sacrifice
and will destroy entire civilizations , should they not behave
according to his rules.
The outcome of this is fear !
Very few people that I have spoken to could say that they loved God,
but almost all said that they
fear him.
We
actually believe that we and the devil exist outside of God.
On the other hand we declare God as omnipotent, all powerful,
all encompassing
.
If God is
all powerful and all encompassing, how in the heavens
can we or the devil be outside of God then
?
Either God
is not all powerful and the devil can truly oppose him or not.
You cannot
have it both ways, which is what we have been trying to do .
Is it possible, that we humans have not really cared about who God truly
is and have created him in our own image, so we could feel a little better
about ourselves ?
In other words:
If God is angry, jealous and violent,
is this not our justification to display
those trades our self ?
We have taught our children for eons, that they need to proof their
worthiness
in Gods eyes and ours ( societies ).
The real message that we have taught them through this is :
“ You are not good enough,
not acceptable the way you are.
You
need to change “
The moment the child buys into this lie it is doomed .
For the rest of his life it will produce evidence, of his belief and struggle
against a behavior it creates and recreates
itself all the time .
It
will try to numb and drug itself , because the pain is unbearable, or
it will become angry and declare that
there is no God.
The evidence of this is visible all around us . Take a good look .
Jesus told us that the Father and I are
one .
He did not say only the Father and I are one . He meant all
of us !
It
is of utmost importance what we say and feel in our prayer and how
we teach our young .
Do I address God as an unpredictable
monster, capable of making me
suffer for eternity?
Am I afraid to tell God the truth about my life and who I really am ?
Do I not trust God
?
Do I not
really believe, that she is on my side and that by bringing her
into my life and allowing her power to work for me,
I could be trouble
free and really happy ?
Those questions need to be asked, and when you do, the answers might
shock you.
By confessing to
God “ what a sinner and bad person I am “ I only condemn
myself to repeat the behavior I so despise .
Why not tell God
that I know that I am his son or daughter, incapable of sin,
and that it scares me to feel that good about myself ?
Why not promise yourself
and God that you will move away from the lie of
GUILT AND SIN and move
infinitely closer to him ?
Why
not allow yourself to go to that place in your heart where you can
really feel that you are one with the Father ?
And
when you are there, you know that the “ peace that passeth all
understanding “is possible in your life.
This is God’s
promise to you .
Jesus came to demonstrate it and we killed him
for it.
Is
it not time to accept the Gift ?
Let us pray, truly, honestly and differently.
